摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control wall structure of a multistory building capable of effectively damping the vibration of the predominant bending deformation of the multistory building by absorbing and attenuating the vibration by means of viscoelastic elements, and a method of constructing it. SOLUTION: A vibration control wall 22 provided to be rigidly connected to the column/beam frame of a multistory building 12 is divided into right and left sections, which are then stood in combination. Both of the sectioned vibration control walls 22a and 22b are rigidly connected to respective different columns 16a and 16b and to upper and lower beams on three sides and are provided to face each other across a predetermined width W at the center of the column/beam frame along it cross direction, with a gap between the walls along their thickness direction. A viscoelastic body 24 inserted in the gap is sandwiched between a pair of steel plates 26 and 26 and bonded thereto and a number of anchor bolts 28 are initially formed in a vibration control unit 30 as they are integrated with and stood on each steel plate. Both vibration control walls 22a and 22b are RC walls and the steel plate 26 of the vibration control unit 30 is used as a form. With the anchor bolts 28 inserted in a concrete placing space, the form 32 is assembled and concrete is placed therein.
