<p>PURPOSE:To lessen concentration difference between up and down produced by electrolytic bath chemical conversion by injecting a gel electrolyte containing sodium silicate to the upper part of a group of electrode plates on the complition of the electrolytic bath chemical conversion after an electrolyte is injected. CONSTITUTION:A group of electrode plates is composed of a glass fiber mat 1, positive and negative pole plates 2 not yet chemically formed, a lug part 3 of the electrode plates 2 and a strap 4 are unitedly connected by welding and inserted into an electrolyte bath 5, a partitioning paper 6 composed of the glass fiber mat 1 is so inserted into the electrolyte bath 5 as to cover the group of the electrode plates at the upper side, a cover 7 is then put in the upper end of the electrolyte bath 5, and the end part of the electrolyte bath 5 and the cover 7 are sealed. Next, an electrolyte is injected through a gas discharging hole 8 formed in the cover 7, chemical conversion is carried out, and then a gel electrolyte 9 containing sodium silicate is injected up to the height to cover the partitioning paper 6 through the gas discharging hole 8. The superficial area of the gel electrolyte containing sodium silicate is large as compared with that of the glass fiber mat 1 and has strong liquid maintaining force, ad generation of the concentration difference in upper and lower during the use is thus suppressed.</p> |
