PURPOSE:To obtain the subject anti-cancer enhancer showing an excellent anti- cancer enhancement effect using in combination with an anti-cancer agent without a side effect to the living body, having a direct lethal effect to cancer cells and effective with a low dosage by blending an alpha,omega-diol as the active component. CONSTITUTION:An alpha,omega-diol of the formula (n is 6-33) is blended as the active component. Among the above-mentioned active component compounds, ones having integer 12-18 as the n value show especially excellent anti-cancer enhancement effect. As concrete examples of the formula, 1,16-hexadecandiol, 1,20- eicosandiol, etc., are exemplified. For its practical use, a dosage form such as injection or drops is prepared, e.g. by adding a surfactant to a compound of the formula and dispersing the compound using ultrasonic waves. As an oral drug, a capsule, etc., is prepared using the enhancer compound in combination with a binder such as gelatin, a stabilizer such as magnesium stearate and others. In addition, the compounds of the formula are obtained by decomposing a natural material such as a wax. |
