摘要 metallurgy; channel-type induction furnaces for melting aluminum, copper, zinc and other alloys. SUBSTANCE: furnace has bath bounded by refractory walls and induction unit with hearth refractory block having horizontal holes and magnetic circuits. Central channel with vertical walls is provided between horizontal holes. This channel is connected with two side channels which are coaxial relative to inductors in lower portion, they are widening in upper portion of inductor. Walls of side channels form in upper portion triangular projections at angle lesser than 90 deg. together with vertical walls of central channel. Side channels are shifted relative to each other in horizontal plane. Width of central channel is twice as much as compared with width of side channel. Triangular projections found along side channels have horizontal shears whose thickness is equal to 1/5 of thickness of side channel. Wall of side channels are coaxial in upper portion till engagement with horizontal surface of shear. Shears in triangular projections are made on outer side of each channel. EFFECT: enhanced heat and mass-transfer due to intensification of unidirectional motion of metal in furnace channels. 5 dwg
