The rectifier unit has a circuit board with heatsinks for the diodes and is located in the generator slip-ring bearing. The conducting paths on the board connecting the diodes can be contacted by insulated connection bolts passing through or between the heatsinks or by flat plugs. The flat plugs (47,48) are held in insulating parts on the heatsinks and pass through breaks (44,46) in the holes (50) for the connection bolts in the slip-ring bearing (3). The board has holes exposing the connection wires so that the wires can be contacted either by the bolts or by the flat plugs. The advantage lies in being able to use a standard slip-ring bearing for various types of generator and rectifier.
