PURPOSE:To print a number automatically during a printing process by juxtaposing a plurality of numbering devices with rotary type printing members to a plate cylinder, detecting the revolution of the plate cylinder, operating an electromagnet for drive when carry is required and moving the printing member of a desired figure at one pitch. CONSTITUTION:When a plate cylinder 3 makes a turn, a count-up signal is generated in a line by the progress of an article 2, the printing member 12 for the units digit is moved by one pitch by the signal, and numericals are printed gradually to the articles 2 being forwarded. A signal is transmitted from an up counter for the units digit to an up counter for the tens digit after the printing of 00009 is conducted, the electromagnet of an extruding means for the tens digit is excited, the printing surface 21 of one of the printing member 12 for the tens digit is positioned on a susceptor 20, and the printing of 00010 is performed. An electromagnet for the units digit is excited at all times, carry is executed successively so that the electromagnet for the tens digit is excited once at every ten turns and an electromagnet for the hundreds digit at every one hundred turns, and numericals by a decimal method are printed on the articles 2. |
