The device for articulating an arm-rest of an armchair made of plastic material to the back, permitting the automatic fitting by downward pushing of this arm-rest onto the rest of the armchair, comprises two pins (14) aligned in a substantially horizontal direction and projecting from the two sides of an integrally moulded bracket (13) protruding laterally on the outer edge corresponding to the back (2) made of plastic material, these pins being intended to penetrate, by means of elastic bending of downward wings (17, 18) of the arm-rest (3) made of plastic material, into holes (17, 19) of these wings in order to be held thereby and to pivot therein.
