PURPOSE:To enable to smoothly feed a transfer recording material, by a method wherein driving of the first driving body for separating and supplying a transfer recording material and the second driving body for sub-scanning feeding by reversely rotating a motor and driving of the second driving body by forwardly rotating the motor are repeated until the leading end of the recording material reaches a recording part. CONSTITUTION:By reversely rotating the motor, a separating roller 12 and a platen roller 6 are rotated clockwise, whereby a paper 9 is separated and supplied while a transfer sheet 2 is rewound. The leading end of the paper 9 reaches a point A, and slight sagging occurs. Next, by rotating the motor forward, the platen roller 6 is rotated counterclockwise, the separating roller 12 is released from a one-way clutch, and the leading end of the paper 9 reaches a position proximate to a recording position P to absorb the sag. Then, the motor is reversely rotated to induce sagging between the roller 12, 6, is further rotated forward to direct the paper 9 to the recording position P, thereafter the motor is rotated forward so that the transfer sheet 2 and the paper 9 are fed in the sub-scanning direction by rotating the platen roller 6 counterclockwise, and recording is started. Accordingly, even where the spacing between the rollers is small, the leading end of the transfer recording material can be smoothly fed regardless of the thickness or rigidity of the paper, and the size of the recorder can be reduced. |
