PURPOSE:To permit a satisfactory recording and regeneration to be performed and obtain a contact type optical recording medium having sufficient light resistance by incorporating a coloring matter and a copper complex of bisphenylenedithiol in a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In an optical recording medium 1 having a reflection layer 4 formed in close contact with a recording layer 3 on a base plate 2 and a pit part formed by irradiating the recording layer with a recording light to perform a regenerative function with regenerating light, the recording layer 3 contains a photoabsorbing coloring matter and a copper complex of bisphenylenedithiol. At the time of application of the regenerating light from the base plate side, the reflection factor of an unrecorded part is at least 60%, the reflection factor of a recorded part is at most 60% of that of the unrecorded part, the attenuation coefficient k of the recording layer in the wavelength of the recording and regenerating light is 0.03-0.25, the reflactive index n of the recording layer in the wavelength of the recording and regenerating light is 1.8-4.0 and the wavelength of the recording and regenerating light is 600-900nm. The photoabsorbing coloring matter is cyanine coloring matter. |
