Non-soap laundry bars suitable for hand washing of fabrics have a continuous phase formed principally by alkali metal silicate and water with other materials either dispersed or dissolved in it. This structure provides bars having hardness, wear-rate and mushing characteristics which are very satisfactory. Conventionally such bars are constituted by a dispersion of solid particles dispersed in a continuous phase which consists principally of detergent-active compound and water. |
