PURPOSE:To improve processability by fitting a flange where a forward thrust transmitting part and a rearward thrust transmitting part are formed at both the sides to a shaft constituting material outer peripheral part of a propeller shaft, and stopping one side surface of the flange with a stopping part for axial positioning provided in the shaft constituting material outer peripheral part. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a flange 52 in a propeller shaft 28 in an outboard motor 10 arranged on roughly parallel inside a casing 11 where a propeller 26 is installed to transmit thrust force which works on the propeller shaft 28 to the casing 11 and support it. The front surface of the flange 52 is made to come into contact with a bore of a bearing 50 as a forward thrust transmitting part 53, and a rear surface is made to come into contact with a holding tube 60 as a rearward thrust transmitting part 54 through a thrust bearing 58 and a washer 59. With this constitution, the flange 52 is fitted from an anti-propeller 26 side edge part of the propeller shaft 28 to a shaft constituting material 28A outer peripheral part, and a part near to the side surface bore of the flange 52 on the forward thrust transmitting part 53 side is fixed, by means of welding 61, to the shaft constituting material 28A outer peripheral part, with the side surface of the rearward thrust transmitting part 54 side stopped at a stepped part 28B provided in the shaft constituting material 28A outer peripheral part. |
