PURPOSE:To reduce the installation cost of a long range optical submarine cable system by providing a means feeding only a power between optical submarine cables connected to a submarine repeater. CONSTITUTION:The system consists of an optical submarine cable 4 having an optical fiber 4-a through which an optical signal is sent from an optical terminal equipment 1 and having a feeder 4-b through which a power from a feeder 1 of other station is supplied, an optical submarine repeater 3 connecting to the optical submarine cable 4 and relaying and amplifying an optical signal, and the feeder 1 of a station C supplying power to branched feeders 5 by a branching device 6 provided in the optical submarine cable 4 connecting to the optical submarine repeater 3. The feeding to the optical submarine repeater 3 is implemented by the feeder 1 of stations A, C and the feeder 1 of stations C, B. The path of the feeding consists of a metallic pipe 4-b and feeders 5-a, 5-b and no optical terminal equipment 1 is not required for the station C. |
