<p>PURPOSE:To deal with many kinds of character image format without changing a feature extraction part by providing two normalization table memories and a computer which prepares the content of the table in accordance with the character format. CONSTITUTION:Two normalization address table memories 4 of A, B, and a microprocessor 2 which calculates the normalization address in accordance with the format of each character image, are provided. Also, a feature extraction part 5 which obtains the bit address on a character image corresponding to each picture element of the normalized picture, obtains the information of each picture element from the information of the picture element on the character image at the bit address, and refers to the normalization address table 4 of A, B to execute the feature extraction after the character image normalization, a character image memory 3 which stores the character image, and a controlling means 6 for these, are provided. Thus, it can deal with many kinds of picture formats without the necessity to change the feature extraction part 5 and the character image format.</p> |
