PURPOSE:To obtain a terminal cover having excellent flame resistance as well as excellent mechanical strength without occurrence of a halogen-based gas in combustion by blending an ethylene-based copolymer with a hydrated metal oxide and a red phosphorus-based compound. CONSTITUTION:A flame-retardant resin composition consisting of (A) 100 pts.wt. ethylene-based copolymer, (B) 40-60 pts.wt. hydrated metal oxide treated with a surface treating agent and (C) 3-15 pts.wt. red phosphorus-based compound is molded to produce the objective cover. Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and/or ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer is used as the component A. A higher fatty acid (metal salt), silane coupling agent, etc., is used as the treating agent for the component B, and aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, etc., is used as the hydrated metal oxide. |
