<p>PURPOSE:To lower statical friction when starting feed and to improve the guide capacity of a magnetic tape by rotating a tape guide within the range of angle of rotation of a rotation limiting mechanism only in a transient period in which the magnetic tape migrates from a stopping state to a feeding state. CONSTITUTION:When the magnetic tape 6 starts to move in a direction of 7, the tape guide 1A is rotated, and a rotation detecting part 11 is stopped at a position arriving at stopping parts 10a, 10b. Therefore, no rotation of the guide 1A occurs when the tape 6 is fed in the same direction. When the stoppage and the feed of the tape 6 in the same direction are repeated, such control is performed that the tape 6 is rewound once in a direction opposite to a feed direction when starting the stoppage or the feed of the tape 6, and a guide part 8 can be rotated in a reverse direction by a prescribed angle of rotation. Thereby, the statical friction when starting the feed can be lowered, and the guide capacity of the tape can be improved.</p> |
