PURPOSE:To form a color transfer image excellent in physical properties on the surface of plastic by laminating a release layer having predetermined characteristics, a thermal transfer recording layer containing a high MW resin binder, a colorant and an abrasion-resistant material and a thermal adhesive layer on a support having heat resistance in this order. CONSTITUTION:A release layer 2 based on a low MW resin with a softening point of 60-150 deg.C and an MW of 500-5000 and an org. or inorg. filler, a thermal transfer recording layer 3 containing a high MW resin binder with a glass transition point of 50-110 deg.C and an MW of 8000 or more, a colorant and an abrasion-resistant material and a thermal adhesive layer 4 containing a low MW resin with a softening point of 60-150 deg.C and an anti-blocking agent are laminated to a support 1 having heat resistance in this order. The support l supports the release layer 2, the thermal transfer recording layer 3 and the thermal adhesive layer 4. The release layer 2 is melted at the time of thermal transfer to make transfer easy. The thermal transfer recording layer 3 is transferred to the surface of a transfer material to form a color image and the thermal adhesive layer 4 is thermally bonded to the transfer material to fix the transferred color image. |
