<p>PURPOSE:To sufficiently remove only ammonia in the simple operation by previously adding carbon dioxide to a gaseous raw material contg. ammonia and thereafter bringing the gaseous raw material into contact with an adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:Carbon dioxide is added to a gaseous raw material contg. ammonia. This gaseous mixture is introduced into an adsorption column 11 and brought into contact with an adsorbent. Thereby ammonia contained in the gaseous raw material is selectively adsorbed to the adsorbent together with carbon dioxide and removed from the gaseous raw material. Adsorbing operation is stopped at a point of time before break through is started in the adsorption column 11. Supply of the gaseous raw material is stopped. Then, while the adsorption column 11 is heated at about 150-250 deg.C by an electric heater 15, one part of purified gas is allowed to flow back through a passage 18 of regenerated gas. Thereby carbon dioxide and ammonia adsorbed in the main adsorption column 1 are desorbed.</p> |
