PURPOSE:To improve the image in a contour part by using a YC separating delay element without increasing the delay element by combining a YC separating circuit and a noise eliminating circuit for a luminance signal, and adding newly a contour correcting LPF and an N-fold circuit. CONSTITUTION:This noise eliminating circuit is constituted by combining a conventional YC separating circuit and a noise eliminating circuit for a luminance signal, and adding newly an LPF 13 for executing a contour correction and an N-fold circuit 14. The output of a subtracter 8 is the contour component of an inputted video signal, and by allowing it to pass through the LPF 13, the noise of the contour part is eliminated a little, and also, by executing N folds with the N-fold circuit 14 and taking the sum with a delay element 4 by an adder 15, the contour correction is executed, and outputted to an output terminal 36. Also, by switching a YC-separated luminance signal 2 and a composite video signal 1 by a switch 13, the same contour correction is executed to both inputs. As for the YC-separated luminance signal 2, it is unnecessary to extract a chroma component in the YC separation, therefore, a switch 11 operates so as to set the chroma component to '0'. |
