PURPOSE:To improve productivity and obtain a rare earth - transition metal (R-TM-B) anisotropic permanent magnet of high performance at low cost by adding the metallic plates of the same materials as a sheath above and the sheath between the n-th time and the (n+1)-th time (n is a natural number), during hot-rolling. CONSTITUTION:Alloy, whose basic ingredients are a rare earth element (yttrium included), a transition metal, and boron, is dissolved and cast to form an ingot 3, and this ingot is charged into a metallic sheath 2, and then to make it in a desired thickness, it is hot-rolled twice or more at a temperature of 500 deg.C or more to give magnetic anisotropy. Hereupon, metallic plates of the same material as the sheath 2 are added above and below the sheath 2 between the n-th time and (n+1)-th time (n is a natural number), during the rolling. Hereby, productivity improves sharply, and a high performance stable R-RM-B permanent magnet can be obtained at low cost. |
