<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimmable luminaire which can be mounted even at place where a wall light control switch is provided beforehand. <P>SOLUTION: A rated voltage value of AC power supply 3 is inputted as a supply voltage Vo, and it is converted into a DC voltage with a DC voltage conversion element 1 while keeping its voltage value. A DC input voltage Vin equal to the rated voltage value is applied to an input side of a DC-DC converter circuit 2 including DC-DC converter permitting an input voltage value equal to the rated voltage value. In the DC-DC converter circuit 2, the DC input voltage Vin equal to the inputted rated voltage value is decreased to a permissible voltage Vout of an element driven at a voltage lower than the rated voltage value.
