PURPOSE:To ensure that ink is filled securely in a short time and a residual ink near an ink ejection nozzle part is removed positively, if an ink of low surface tension and low meniscus holding capability is used by connecting the first valvular tube having a narrow path in the diameter and the second valvular tube having no narrow path to a protecting cap. CONSTITUTION:The first valvular device 5a and the second valvular device 5b are connected to a projecting cap 2 for allowing the interior of the protecting cap 2 to communicate with an atmosphere or shutting down the protecting cap 2. The first valvular tube 6a connects the protecting cap 2 to the valvular device 5a and has a narrow path of L/r 50 (L: narrow path length, r: narrow path radius), while the second valvular device 6b (no narrow path formed in the diameter) connects the protecting cap 2 to the valvular device 5. In addition, a valvular tube 7 for controlling the flow of air between the protecting cap 2 and the valvular device 5 is introduced and fixed in the valvular tube 6a. |
