The invention relates to a device which cooks eggs without the disadvantage of the preparatory phase of boiling the water. It is characterised by a combination of direct heat from one side of the egg with simultaneous rotation of the egg about itself. This has the effect of progressively cooking the exposed side while the unexposed side transpires, so avoiding an excessive increase in the internal pressure of the egg and breakage of the shell during cooking. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for the construction of electrical household appliances for cooking eggs to a "boiled" or "hard-boiled" condition.
