A discharge lamp in which two pin/conducting support assemblies (A, B), composed of two connection pins (23, 25) and two conducting supports (22, 24) are firmly fastened by a resin lamp cap (20), and are mounted so that the connection pins (23, 25) project from the rear face of the cap, whilst the conducting supports (22, 24) project from the front face of the cap in order to support a discharge bulb (110). The cap has an axial through-hole (42) which is formed therein during moulding of the cap in a metal mould, so that the axial through-hole (42) is situated between the connection pins of the pin/conducting support assemblies, the dielectric stiffness of the cap (20) being thus improved. <IMAGE>
