<p>PURPOSE:To hold the temperature of a whole thermal head at an appropriate standby temperature at a line printing start time by a method wherein a heating is dividedly conducted two times per printing line, printing dots specified by printing data are heated in the first heating, and non-printing dots specified by reversed printing data are preheated in the second heating. CONSTITUTION:As soon as a preheating is finished, data 1-1 for a first line are latched by a latch 4, and printing heating 51 is carried out. During the heating 51, reversed printing data 1-2 for preheating non-printing dots are transmitted. A data selection signal 2 is made high level and the data 1-l are transmitted in synchronism with a clock 3, whereby the reversed printing data 1-2 are transmitted. After the printing heating 51 is finished, the reversed printing data 1-2 are latched by a latch 42. After the latch 42 is completed, a preheating 52 of the non-printing dots to a standby temperature 10 is carried out.</p> |
