<p>PURPOSE:To enable identifying object giving intense reflection light and switching output mode in accordance with signal process mode by providing a light casting element, a light receiving element, an amplifier, a signal processor, a comparator, and an output mode switching means. CONSTITUTION:An amplifier 2 has double step amplifying circuits 2a and 2b inside. Since the amplification factor of first step circuit 2a is so set as not to saturate even for a lot of reflection light, different level output is obtained from the unsaturated amplified output between a mirror surface and metal for example. A comparator 4 compares the unsaturated amplified output from the circuit 2a with a reference value Vref. This reference value Vref is set at a value to distinguish mirror surface from metal. Furthermore, a logic circuit 5 can switch the output mode of the comparison result output V0 of comparator to the output mode of the comparison result (saturation detection output of mirror) in accordance with the signal process mode in a signal process part 3.</p> |
