PURPOSE:To remove register marks as punched chips generated at the time of marginal punching, by printing register marks for each pattern at positions coinciding with the positions of marginal punch holes and in such a size that each of the register marks is entirely included in the area of each of the holes. CONSTITUTION:A block copy of register marks for giving the register marks to a machine plate is first produced. The block copy is provided, at an end part in the transverse direction thereof, with pairs of register marks 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d each of which pairs consists of a horizontal register mark 1 orthogonal to the feeding direction of a paper and a slant register mark 2 slanted relative to the feeding direction of the paper, at regular intervals. The number of the pairs of register marks is equal to the number of patterns to be printed, for example, 4 pairs of register marks are provided when printing in 4 colors. Each of the register marks is located at the position of each of marginal punch holes 4 formed at a processing part of a form rotary press. The size of the register marks 1, 2 is so set that each of the register marks is entirely included in the area of each of the marginal punch holes 4. |
