The invention relates to the fight against the fraudulent use of cheques and of anonymous investment bills. Its technical field applies to the process of printing the ink to be scratched off. It is based on the idea of allocating to the cheques and to the bills a secret index which, known to the holder of an account or the owner of bills, is legible only after being scratched off. It should be stressed that the indices in question are different and have no logical relationship with each other. These measures allow the recipient of a cheque to satisfy himself as to the reliability of the person drawing it (the payer). Likewise, the payer of a bill can be assured of the authenticity of its holder.
