<p>PURPOSE:To realize a semiconductor device having high generality capable of expanding its application fields by connecting two differential circuits and a phase deciding circuits between two built-in counters and two input terminals and providing the phase deciding circuit with two operation modes. CONSTITUTION:Data '0' are written in a storage circuit 108 by a program fetched from a read-only memory (ROM) 105 to a central processing unit (CPU) 101. In such a status, data from a bidirectional data bus 102 are written in the storage circuit 108. Then, two-phase clock signals having a phase difference are respectively inputted from the external to 1st and 2nd input terminals 109, 110. The positive/reverse directions of two clock signals having the phase differ ence are decided by the phase deciding circuit 113, the numbers of clocks in respective directions are read out by the CPU 101 based upon the program and the read results are stored in a random access memory (RAM) 106 as information. When data '1' are written in the circuit 108 by the CPU 101, 1st and 2nd counters 114, 115 act as independent counters in two systems.</p> |
