<p>PURPOSE:To dispense with storing after pulling out a paper feeder cassett by raising a tray to a copyable position after a specified time, in the case where the cassett is left without being pulled out under a condition that papers are layed on the tray when the tray is lowered to the pullable position. CONSTITUTION:Detection by a means for detecting the existence of paper on a paper feeding tray 501 after operation of a timer is started, and according to the detection signal, judgement is made by a control means whether paper is layed on the tray 510 or not. In the case where paper is layed on the tray 501 and counting of the timer is completed before a paper feeding cassett is pulled out, a time-up signal is inputted together with a paper detection signal to a raising means to output a control signal of a tray drive system 506 from a raising means, thereby raising the tray to the upper limit position.</p> |
