PURPOSE:To hold the resistance value of a transfer paper within a proper range and to improve the efficiency of transfer by controlling the heating of the transfer paper according to the moisture content of the transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:In the advance of a transfer action, the moisture content of the transfer paper 8 is detected by a humidity sensor 15 and a control part 16 before the paper 8 is carried to a transfer position. Since the paper 8 is carried to a position where a second pressurizing roller 12 is retreated downward in the case that the moisture content is <=7%, it is not brought into contact with a pressurizing roller 10. Therefore, the paper 8 is carried to the transfer position without being heated by the roller 10. Since the second pressurizing roller 12 abuts on the pressurizing roller 10 in the case that the moisture content is >=7%, the paper 8 is carried to the transfer position after it is heated and dried by the roller 10. Thus, the transfer paper which needs to be heated is heated and the transfer paper which need not be heated is not heated. As the result, the efficiency of the transfer is improved and an image having excellent quality is obtained. |
