PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp image by preventing density jump and the run of ink by independently applying granular colored bodies having a specific particle size or less on a base material and transferring the same to a transfer material without changing the shape thereof. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording medium is formed by applying colored bodies 3 prepared in a fine granular form on a support 2 in density capable of making the colored bodies independent. The particle size of the colored bodies 3 is set to 20mum or less. This thermal transfer recording medium 1 is superposed on a transfer material 6 directly under a thermal head 7 and heated on a platen 8 corresponding to a signal under pressure necessary for transfer. At this time, the granular colored bodies 4 transferred from the thermal transfer recording medium 1 hold relative position not different from that between the colored bodies 3 applied on the support and, even if slight strain and collapse are generated in the shape of the colored bodies, a configurational change such as the cracking, flocculation and destruction of the colored bodies is not generated. Therefore, the connection and run of ink at the time of printing can be prevented and excellent gradation characteristics can be obtained and a sharp image can be formed. |
