The metal coat hanger has a rotatable hook (1) which is guided through an opening between the round or profiled wire cross bar (2) and the centre piece (3) which is mounted parallel at the side of the cross bar and fixedly connected thereto. This opening is formed by a bulge (3a) of the centre piece and/or of the cross bar (2). A thickened area (1a) at the end of the hook (1) of cylindrical shape and larger cross-section than the opening is mounted beneath said opening and prevents the hook from sliding out upwards through support on the centre piece (3) and cross bar (2). The centre piece (3) can be welded to the cross bar. USE/ADVANTAGE - Easier large or small scale mfr. of metal coat hangers.
