A ring of solder wire is placed around the joint between a part of the casing and the part of the socket or plug. A contact sleeve is placed around the hole in the metal plate forming the casing and over the wore. The wire is then heated until it melts. Radial grooves in the metal plate carrying the solder under the edge (13) of the sleeve to solder the sleeve edge to the plate. The plate (1) has grooves or recesses (11) along its contact zone with the sleeve (3). The grooves or recesses are spaced apart and extend under the sleeve edge. The edge of the plate's hole is drawn upwards trumpet-like into the sleeve.
