PURPOSE:To hold this blood vessel restoring material stuck to the aneurysm wall so as to fill the cavity and to facilitate the removal of a catheter by forming highly water absorptive fibers having the rate of water absorption above a specific value to such a shape as to allow the passage through the vessel cavity of a specific inside diameter and binding the same by a binder which is meltable by blood. CONSTITUTION:The blood vessel restoring material 10 is constituted by forming a highly water absorptive polymer having the highly water absorptive fiber 1 of >=10ml/g rate of water absorption to a fibrous shape. Only the highly water absorptive fibers may be used in the case of formation to the blood vessel restoring material but more preferably the fibers are formed by using an adhesive 2 to a yarn shape or as a particle to allow the easy introduction into the living body by using the catheter, etc. The binders which are easily soluble in the blood are more preferable. Such binders are exemplified by polysaccharides and oligosaccharides, such as dextran and prulane, monosaccharides, such as mannitol, and in addition, water-soluble materials, such as protein and water-soluble high polymers. The shapes at which the fibers are molded are preferably <=3mm, more preferably <=1mm inside diameters to allow the passage in the vessel cavity. The clotting of the blood is accelerated by imparting agglutinating factors, such as fibrinogen, thrombine, and Ca<2+> ions, to the highly water absorptive fibers 1. |
