PURPOSE:To shorten the time of initializing actions in the case of detaching a main body cover by setting a recorder in a copying-unable state when the cover of the recorder main body is opened after a main power source is applied and setting it in a copying-performable state after omitting the partial stage of the initializing actions consisting of plural stages when the cover is closed again. CONSTITUTION:On/off control is performed when the upper leading edge of the main body cover 20A abuts on the movable projection 113a of a cover switch 113. When the main power source 112 is applied first in order to start to use the recorder, the initializing actions are finished after several minutes and the recorder is in the copying-performable state. In such a state, copying is started. When the cover 20A is opened because the jamming of a recording paper, for example, occurs in the midst of copying, the opening is detected and copying actions are made impossible, then the jammed paper is removed in this state and the cover 20A is closed again. The closing of the cover is detected and the copying action is made possible after performing the initializing actions again. In such a case, the partial stage of the initializing actions is omitted. Thus, the time of initializing actions is shortened. |
