<p>The wavefront orientations of transmissions from a plurality of OMEGA navigation transmitters are determined to establish absolute geographical bearing. Respective signals induced in the individual antennae (A, B, C, D) of a fixed antenna array are sampled and stored. A microprocessor (69) synthesises the induced waveforms utilizing stored polar response data for the antenna and compares the relative signal amplitudes of the synthesised waveforms to determine the wavefront orientation. The wavefront orientations of transmissions from different transmitters may be determined simultaneously.</p> |
