<p>PURPOSE:To attain sure communication even when an address of a destination terminal equipment is not registered in a bridge device by discriminating whether or not a destination address of a frame relayed to a trunk LAN is registered to other bridge device and relaying the frame with a proper destination address based on the result of discrimination. CONSTITUTION:The device consists of a communication controller 3 of a trunk line local area network (LAN), a communication controller 4 for a branch LAN, an address table 5 provided with a branch address table 5A and an external address table 5B and a controller 6 having a microcomputer 6A and a memory 6B in its inside. Then the control circuit 6 discriminates whether or not the destination address of the frame relayed to the trunk line LAN is registered in other bridge device and the frame is relayed at a proper destination address according to the result of discrimination. Thus, even when the address of the destination terminal equipment is not registered in the bridge device, sure communication is attained.</p> |
