The process is partic. for monitoring the yarn traction force between the false twister and the outlet delivery mechanism of the texturising zone of a multistation false twisting crimping machine. The yarn traction force is continuously measured (measuring signal: U) and the measuring values are continuously amalgamated on the measuring station into an average value (MU). From the ave. value (MU) and the continuous measuring value (U) a difference signal (DU) is continuously calculated on the measuring station. An alarm signal (A) is produced on the measuring point when the ave value (MU) leaves a pre-set tolerance field between a top limit value (GOMU) and a bottom limit value (GUMU) and/or when the continuously formed difference signal (DU) is out of a second pre-set tolerance field between a top value (GODU) and a bottom value (GUDU).
