The air-conditioned omnibus has an air circulator device in a chamber (2) above the engine compartment in the vehicle rear. Air is drawn in through an inlet (3) placed behind the rear passenger seat (10), on whose underside is a sound-proofing sheet (11). From the inlet (3) the air is warmed and passed by a circulating fan (5) through an outlet duct (4) into the vehicle air distributor duct. A further fan (6) draws fresh air through an inlet (7) in the roof for some air to mingle with the internal air circulation and the rest to pass out through a rear outlet (8). The size of the inlet opening (9) to the inlet (3) under the seat ensures a slow airflow which does not cause the passengers feet to be cold.
