The indicator has the drive shaft (7) coupled to an indicator shaft (3), cooperating with a stator (1) contained within the indicator housing incorporating a sensor for the angular shaft position. The two shafts (3,7) are fitted together via a clamp employing a clamp element (11) and an operating element (12) provided by a threaded screw contained within the hollow indicator shaft (3). The clamp element (11) has an angled face (15) cooperating with a second angled face (16) at the end of the indicator shaft (3). The two angled faces (15,16) are rotated in opposite directions upon tensioning of the operating element (12) so that the clamp element (11) and the end (14) of the indicator shaft (3) are each pushed outwards into contact with the inside of a coaxial bore (13) in the drive shaft (7).
