PURPOSE:To provide an organopolysiloxane latex ueful as a fiber treating agent, a lubricant, etc., by emulsion-polymerizing an organosilicon compd. and an organopolysiloxane in the presence of a surfactant in water. CONSTITUTION:An organosilicon compd. (a) of formula I [ wherein Rs<1> are the same or different groups and each is a 1-20C (substd.) monovalent hydrocarbon group; R<2> is R<1> or OX (wherein X is H or R<1>); a and b are each 0-3 and 1<=a+b<=4] and an organopolysiloxane compd. (b) contg. at least one phosphate group, represented by formula II [wherein R<3> is R<1>; R<4> is R<3> or OY (wherein Y is H or R<3>); Z is a group of formula III (wherein R<5> is lower alkyl; R<6> is a 1-8C bivalent hydrocarbon group); c, d and e are each 0-2 and 1<=c+d+e<=3] are emulsion-polymerized in the presence of a sulfonic acid surfactant and/or a sulfate surfactant in water to obtain the title latex. |
