<p>A dynamic barcode display system includes a barcode odometer (1) with barcode indicia groups (2) formed on counting wheels (14) thereof. A method according to the present invention employs the barcode odometer (1) for reading utility meters (4) using a conventional barcode scanner unit (5). The system also includes a dynamic barcode label device (90) formed by a label base or housing (98) and discrete preprinted barcode character bands (95), each having a plurality of barcode indicia sets (80) printed thereon with human readable symbols (81) overlaid thereover. The label (90) is formed by a face wall (99) having a window (101) formed therethrough. The barcode character bands (95) are slidably adjusted to expose the desired barcode indicia sets (80) through the window (101).</p> |
