The pivot drive has a drive spindle (1) carrying a nut (2) which has a projecting coupling pin (5) cooperating with a guide slot (6) provided by a pivot plate (3). The linear movement of the nut, upon rotation of the spindle, is converted into rotation of a drive shaft (4), attached to the pivot plate (3). The guide slot (6) has two mirror-symmetrical sections (6a,6b) along which the coupling pin (5) is moved in succession, to allow a rotation angle of the drive shaft of more than 180 degrees.
