PURPOSE:To improve fuel consumption by enlarging the orifice opening area to the maximum at the braking time, whereas diminishing the orifice opening area to a minimum when the vehicle speed is less than the specified value, the speed change stage is in a low speed range or in a receding position, and lateral wheel speed difference and acceleration are less than the specified value at the non-braking time, and controlling the opening area to have the appropriate value when the acceleration is more than the specified value. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control device takes in the output of sensors 52-57 to control control mechanism 8 by an actuator 50. That is, the control mechanism 8 is moved to the left at the braking time to enlarge the opening area of an orifice 22a to the maximum. When the vehicle speed is less than the specified value, the speed change stage is in a low speed range or in a receding position, the lateral wheel speed difference is less than the specified value and the acceleration is less than the specified value at the non-braking time, the control mechanism 8 is moved to the right to diminish the orifice opening area to a minimum. When the acceleration is more than the specified value, differential limiting torque is controlled to have the appropriate value. With this constitution, fuel consumption is improved.
