PURPOSE:To reduce shock by enlarging the orifice opening area to the maximum at the braking time, whereas diminishing the orifice opening area to a minimum when the vehicle speed is less than the specified value, the speed change stage is in a low speed range or in a receding position, the lateral wheel speed difference is more than the specified value, and the steering angle is less than the specified value at the non-braking time, and controlling the opening area appropriately when the steering angle is more than the specified value. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control device 51 controls control mechanism 8 by an actuator 50 on the basis of the output signals of a brake sensor 52, a vehicle speed sensor 53, a speed change stage sensor 54, a wheel speed sensor 55 and a steering angle sensor 56. That is, the control mechanism 8 is moved to the left at the braking time so as to enlarge the opening area of an orifice 22a to the maximum. When the vehicle speed is less than the specified value, the speed change stage is in a low speed range or in a receding position, the lateral wheel speed difference is more than the specified value, and the steering angle is less than the specified value at the non- braking time, the control mechanism is moved reversely to diminish the orifice opening area to a minimum. When the steering angle is more than the specified value, the opening area is set to the appropriate value. With this constitution, shock can be reduced.
