PURPOSE:To measure the absolute value of the size of an object in real time by obtaining a video signal by means of a trapezoidal scanning or a triangle scanning and applying signal processing and arithmetic processing to the video signal. CONSTITUTION:A deflection signal is fed to horizontal and vertical deflection coils 8,9 controlling the scanning of a photoelectric plane 7 of an image pickup section 5 from a deflection waveform generator 12 to apply trapezoidal or triangle scanning on the photoelectric plane 7. For example, a video signal by the trapezoidal scanning is fed to a monitor TV 4 via a video amplifier 10 and a process amplifier 11 and a monitor TV 4 applies usual rectangular scanning, and the image close to a plane 1 or remote therefrom gives a same length on the display. When a width D of the horizontal scanning line H intersecting an object 2 is measured, the absolute value of the diameter of the object 2 is obtained without correction, Thus, the absolute value of the size of the object is immediately measured. |
