PURPOSE:To make it easy to perform light irradiation on only one of a plurality of buses by forming an electron waveguide inside a photowaveguide, controlling the light intensity distribution inside the photowaveguide, and irradiating at least one of the two electron waveguides. CONSTITUTION:To control a light intensity distribution, light is made to interfere in photowaveguides (paths) or it is performed in a transverse mode of the photowaveguides. Since only one of the photowaveguides 1, 2 is irradiated with light in such as construction, selective light irradiation to only one path of a very small region is made possible. The direction of photo-electric field applied to the path can be determined easily since photowaveguides are used. Thus, if a plurality of photon interference elements are formed inside one photowaveguide, the plurality of elements can be simultaneously activated by a single control light. As a result, light can easily be applied selectively to a plurality of paths. In addition, a plurality of elements can be activated by a single signal or control light. It is easy to make the element smaller. |
