PURPOSE:To automatically manufacture prepreg, the direction of fiber orientation of which is set arbitrarily, by a method wherein drawn prepreg is cut off at the predetermined angle to the direction of fiber orientation and turned so as to arranging its direction of fiber orientation with the predetermined direction and, after that, successively and abuttingly arranged and, finally pasted with adhesive tape. CONSTITUTION:In a cutting device 30, which cuts off the prepreg P1 delivered from base stock P, the cutting angle to the longitudinal direction or direction of fiber orientation of the prepreg P1 can be properly set. In addition, a turning device 40 is provided beyond a carrying path 31 on the downstream side of the cutting device. A carrying path 50 acts so as to re-arrange a prepreg piece P4, the direction of which is turned with the turning device 40, so as to abut against the preceding prepreg piece P5 in order to make the gap between the pieces P4 and P5 to the minimum. A pasting device 60 pastes adhesive tape to the under surface of the abutting part of the preceding prepreg piece P6 against the following prepreg piece P5. A second feeding device 70 feeds the prepreg piece P6 towards a take-up 80 by the distance, by which the rear end of the prepreg piece P5 is brought to the position corresponding to the pasting position of the pasting device 60. |
