PURPOSE:To provide a low insertion force connector by displacing the tip of the connection piece of a female terminal when a male housing is inserted into a female housing so as to install a projection for expanding the porting into which the female terminal is to be inserted on the inside of the female housing. CONSTITUTION:When a male housing 4 is inserted into a female housing 2, the insertion portion 24a of a male terminal 24 approaches toward an inserted portion 25 from an insertion hole 22c, and concurrently, a projecting stripe 30 is inserted into the groove 28 of the male housing 4, and when the tip of he insertion portion 24a faces to the inserted portion 25, a projection 31 abuts against the tip of a connection piece 23 to push this tip upward. This push of the tip of the connection piece 23 by the projection 31 causes such a displacement that the tip side ascends by use of a folded portion 23a as a fulcrum, so that a space between the lower plate 22b of the terminal housing 22 and the middle portion of the connection piece 23 becomes large. Thereafter, the male terminal 24 is continuously inserted into a recessed portion 29, so that it is possible for the expanded insertion portion 24a of the male terminal 24 to be inserted into the expanded inserted-portion 25 with a play and by a low insertion force. |
