<p>PURPOSE:To restrain deterioration of the responsiveness of a steering mechanism by providing to a control portion a first detection signal for deciding a temporary controlled value of a current for driving a motor and a second detection signal for adjusting the temporary controlled value, and making the effective detection width of the second detection signal larger than that of the first detection signal. CONSTITUTION:Detection signals of a first torque sensor 21 for detecting torque delivered to a steering wheel are provided to the input port a1 of a control portion 1 via an amplifier circuit 4 for setting the gain and the upper and lower limit values of each signal, and detection signals of the first torque sensor 21 are provided to the input port a2 of the control portion 1 not via the amplifier circuit 4. Detection signals of a second torque sensor 22 are provided to the input port a3 of the control portion 1. A motor driving circuit 5 for driving a steering motor 6 is connected to the output port b1 of the control portion 1. The effective detection width of each second detection signal T2 is larger than that of each first detection signal T1 and information about steering torque in the saturation area of the first detection signals T1 is obtained from the second detection signal T2.</p> |
